Safety Awards Announced

ALBANY, NY – The 2005 winners of the GBC Safety Excellence Awards, the statewide construction industry awards program recognizing excellence in safety, were honored at a gala awards presentation at The Sagamore Resort & Conference Center, Bolton Landing on September 30. Included was:

The criteria used to determine the winners of GBC’s Safety Excellence Award exceed industry standards, and include , among other requirements, a workers’ comp experience modification rate of 1.0 or less, the company’s five-year OSHA 200 history, and random jobsite inspections used to gauge the effectiveness of the company’s safety program.

The GBC safety awards program recognizes and honors those companies who, year after year, consistently maintain safe working conditions on their jobsites, while continually striving to improve upon their safety programs.


The General Building Contractors of New York State is the leading construction trade association in New York, and is the New York Building Chapter of the Associated General Contractors (AGC) of America.
